What is a fanlisting?
A fanlisting is exactly what it says it is.  A listing of fans for one particular subject from around the world.  The idea for them came from Janine Mischor who decided to find out how many Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans were out there.  The idea expanded into The Fanlistings network, where you can get more information on joining thousands of other fanlistings, and maybe even build your own.

About 'Dauntless'
I named this site 'Dauntless' because I was looking for a word that described both characters, and found this one to be perfect. Both Padme and Obi-wan are very brave and noble people, and I thought dauntless was a perfect way to describe them. :)

Although this site will cover both the platonic and romantic aspects of their relationship, I will readily admit that I am a fan of the Obi-wan and Padme romance.

Yes, some people might be saying, "What romance?", but there is so much potential there for more than just the working relationship they have now.

My obsession with Obi-wan/Padme came about after I saw The Phantom Menace on opening night. I walked out of the theatre theorizing that while Anakin starts acting like a jerk in the future, then Padme could turn to Obi-wan for comfort and advice, and they could eventually fall in love. Of course, Anakin's jealousy over their friendship or romance would only serve to drive him further over the edge and to the dark side, thus ending in the lightsaber duel between Obi-wan and Anakin that Star Wars fans have been anticipating for years. (The one that cripples Anakin.) My friends thought I was a total nutjob and that it was just my Ewan-love speaking, but it had nothing to do with that. It was all about storyline potential.

My Obi-wan/Padme love was only strengthened after the release of Attack of the Clones. I tried my hardest to buy into the romance between Anakin and Padme, but I just couldn't find it. There was no chemistry, no spark, nothing that made me fall in love with them as a couple. Padme needs someone more worthy of her, someone who is a little more stable and a lot less, for lack of a better word, whiny.

My adoration for this pairing only increased after the third and final movie, "Revenge of the Sith", was released in May of 2005.  Though Obi-wan and Padme only share a few scenes together, the chemistry and subtext is obvious.  In fact, near the end of the film the subtext nearly becomes text when Anakin lashes out with jealousy.

Some people have accused fans of this relationship of only putting them together because the characters are played by two attractive actors, but I completely disagree. We just happen to see something there that nobody else can see.  For further proof of Obi-wan and Padme being more than just 'friends', I'd recommend reading the Revenge of the Sith novelization which includes a few scenes that make what Obi-wan/Padme fans have been seeing for years quite obvious.

There are only two romances in the Star Wars universe that I am truly devoted to, one being the perfection that is Han/Leia and this being the other one. I am an absolutely devoted Padme/Obi-wan fan and always will be. And if you've bothered to read this far, you probably are too. :) Welcome to the small, but strong, fandom for this couple. :) Our numbers may be smaller than other pairings' fanbases, but that doesn't mean we don't know what we're talking about.
